Why Zecurity’s Hardwall is not just a Firewall
A firewall is software, software is logic and logic is math. Math works for everyone. Therefore, all software is hackable. Our Hardwall is hardware with non-flashable memory that cannot be changed from an external source.
A firewall can filter only known and previously identified malware and ransomware – meaning that it constantly has to be updated its list of known attacks. Because over 500,000 new malware are created every day, a firewall can never stop all attacks. Our Hardwall stops any attempt (known or unknown) to write or change the system that it protects. Malware and ransomware enter a system by writing into it, propagating and then taking action. If they can’t write to a system, they can’t infect.
Our Hardwall allows third parties to monitor a system (such as a SCADA system or data files) without the possibility of making any changes. A firewall cannot do that – any ability to monitor means an infiltration is possible.
Unlike firewalls, our Hardwall has centralized reporting, allowing a customer to know details about each potential attack.
